National Day Rally 2010

Following the National Day Rally 2010, MOE announced several initiatives to provide students with more educational opportunities and a greater choice of pathways to suit their needs, academic abilities and aptitude. MOE will enhance school infrastructure to support holistic education as well as create more pathways in the secondary and higher education sectors.

Special Awards Presentation 2010

One hundred and twenty-two students received the Special Awards this year, in recognition of their achievements in both the academic and non-academic spheres. Two new awards were also presented for the first time – the Lee Hsien Loong Award for Outstanding All-Round Achievement and the Lee Hsien Loong Award for Outstanding Bicultural Students.

Official Opening of the World Culture Village

The World Culture Village was officially opened by Senior Parliamentary Secretary, Mr Masagos Zulkifli, on 15 August. The booths at the World Culture Village are set up by our students and showcase the culture of various countries participating in the YOG.

Launch of S2010 Friendship Fabric

The Singapore 2010 Friendship Fabric exhibition was launched by Senior Minister of State Ms Grace Fu on 12 August. The exhibition showcases fabric art pieces created by 332 schools, each celebrating an interesting aspect of their twinned National Olympic Committees under the Friends@YOG programme.
